Senior Team lose to Shandonagh in Intermediate Championship
We suffered our second defeat in the championship on Sunday last in Moate, when our opponents were Shandonagh. This really was the proverbial game of two halves, with a gale force wind blowing towards the town end. Ballinagore had possesion of this gale in the first half and led at half time by 1-4 to 1-2. However, it was Shandonagh who made better use of their advantage, and they scored twelve points in the second half to secure a deserved victory, on a 1-14 to 1-6 scoreline. We now have a lot of work to do in the final three matches against Coralstown/Kinnegad, Tang and Rosemount. Luckily we have the time to work as their is now a ten week gap to the next championship match. Team: Mark Doyle, James Keegan, Pat Heduan, Mark King, James Sheerin (Capt.), Michael Ennis 1-0, Pierce Corcoran, Stewart Gavin 0-1, Eoin Miller, JJ Hegarty, Ciarán Carey, Brian Sheerin, Cathal Ennis, Tommy McDaniel 0-5, Ian Seery. Subs used: Shane Heraty for Pierce Corcoran, Paddy Maloney for Brian Sheerin, Kieran Deegan for James Keegan, Michael Gannon for Cathal Ennis. Rest of panel: Willie Gavin, Kevin Gannon, Robert Gannon, Declan Claffey, John Dalton, Michael Gannon, Martin Crowe, Nollaig Gannon, Paddy O'Donaghue.
