Club Lotto
Last week's winning numbers were 7, 11, 22 and 26. Next week's jackpot will be €4,380. It's important that the lotto is kept up during the Winter months as it is our main source of revenue. We thank everyone who has been supporting the lotto throughout the year to date.
Silver Anniversary of 1986 Winning Sides
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Ballinagore GAA winning their second Junior Championship title, after a gap of forty-six years, and the first after re-forming in 1977. They also annexed the Junior League and Junior B Championship titles that year and were narrowly beaten in the Junior Cup final. There will be a special presentation night held to mark these remarkable achievements, in The Bodhrán Bar on Saturday 12th November. This should be a great night of nostalgia and re-acquaintance for the players, supporters and families involved, many of whom will not have met for many years. It promises to be a special evening so come along and show your appreciation for the past heroes of our community.
Minor Semi-Final
We played Athlone in the semi-final of the Club 1 championship last Saturday night under lights in Athlone. Athlone had by far the better first half and were in complete control by half time leading by 1-5 to no score. The second half was far better for our charges as they came to life for the first time, and they played with great spirit and effort scoring five points without reply and reducing the deficit to three points. They then struck the underside of the crossbar and had another couple of chances to reduce the arrears before Athlone broke from midfield and scored a great goal to put two clear goals between the sides. St. Malachy's/Ballinagore kept fighting to the end but were unable to make the breakthrough, and based on their first half display Athlone deserved the victory on the night. We wish them the best of luck in the final. Final score Athlone 2-5, St. Malachy's/Ballinagore 0-6. Team: Eoin Quinn, Michael Heeney, Dean McDermott, Niall Gunning (Capt.), Liam Varley, David Lynch 0-1, Luke Peppard, Aonghus Clarke, Kieran Glennon, Michael Dever, Shane Clavin, Seán Mulllarkey, Neal Kirby 0-2 (1f), Niall O'Brien 0-3 (2f), Alan Clarke. Subs: Alan Kincaid, David Keegan, Enda Claffey, Liam Cassidy.
