Townland League

The league continued last Friday night in the park and both Ballinagore North and Ballinagore West were again successful in the Junior League. Rounds two and three of the Senior League were played and there were wins for Cloneyheigue, Toarlisnamore, Ballinagore/Ballykilroe/Balrath and Cloonagh, and these are the top four teams at the moment with Cloneyheigue leading the way on maximum points. Rounds four and five will take place next Friday and everyone is welcome to take part whether they play regularly or not, so please come down and make sure your Townland is in the 'shake up'.

National League Predictions Competition

Allianz, the sponsors of the hurling and football leagues, are running a competition to predict the results of all the matches played every week. The idea is simple, you just register on and make your predictions. The closer your predictions to the actual results, the more points you earn. The prize is €500 for individuals and €2,500 for their club. There is also a monthly prize of €250 per month for the top scorer in that month. So if you're good at predictions or you just want to have a go for fun, log onto the website and stake your claim.

Last weeks winning numbers were 2, 3, 10 and 15. There was no jackpot winner and next week's jackpot will be €7,260.

Membership for 2012 is now due and is €20 per adult, €5 for students and OAP's ,and €30 for a family inclusive of parents and children under 18. Membership can be paid to the club Registrar Declan Claffey, or any club officer.

Ennis the Menace

Well done to Michael Ennis on a great performance in the ring at last Saturday nights fight night in the Park Hotel. After a gruelling battle with Denis Glennon, he lost out on points in what was one of the toughest fights on the night. Well done again Natchie!

Ballinagore will take part in the semi-finals of Senior Scór on the weekend of the 10th and 11th February in Ballymore and The Downs. Come along and support the local talent.

Club DVD's

There are currently two Ballinagore GAA DVD's available to purchase from the club. The first is 'The Road To Croker' which includes the 'best bits' of the county finals from 1986 to 2007 along with footage of the very successful 'Road To Croker' fundraiser last June. The second is the Commemorative DVD of the 1986 Silver Anniversary celebrations and includes both the Junior and Junior B championship finals, plus the Cup final of that year. The DVD's are €10 each or both for €15. Contact Seán Delaney on 086 3315686 or Paul Seery on 086 8318124.

Congratulations to Michael and Louise Durkan on the birth of their son Evan recently.
