The Road to Croker
Our unique fundraiser is being held during this years Midland Home and Garden Festival in Belvedere House, Gardens and Park, on Saturday 11th June. This very popular festival attracts over 40,000 people from Friday to Sunday. We are going to simulate a road trip from Belvedere to Croke Park, with Google Street View displaying the journey on a big screen. This will be done by playing panels kicking/handpassing/soloing the footballs over and back between two lines, the distance being recorded and updated simultaneously on the screen. It promises to be an exciting event with various GAA celebrities lined up for a full 'Sunday Game' style production to cover the event, novelty road-trip encounters for the players on their journey, a closest time competition and lots more.  We launched 'The Road to Croker' at Belvedere House, Gardens & Park recently with the assistance of Bartle Darcy, General Manager of Belvedere, and Alan Collins, Midlands Home and Garden Show promoter. We also had County Chairman, Tom Farrell, and County Senior Football Manager, Pat Flanagan, lending their support for the launch, along with some of our own players from various grades. Our thanks to all who participated in the launch. Tickets are now on sale for our event in Belvedere House, Gardens and Park on Saturday, June 11th. They cost €10 and include entrance to the festival for the day. Kids go free. You can buy your tickets from any club member, through our event website or email Please come along for a great day out. Tickets are valid for all three days of the show.
